Stakeholder Engagement

Our strategic marketing communications consultancy helped bring these two independent schools closer together in communication terms ahead of a planned merger.

Brief.

Governors at Langley Preparatory School at Taverham Hall asked us to review communication of the school’s ethos, values and culture, assess its approach to internal and external communications and provide insight into the views of key stakeholders. We were asked to carry out a similar exercise at Langley Senior School before making recommendations on how to bring the schools closer together through a shared approach to marketing communications

Process.

Our work centred around gathering the views and opinions of a selection of both schools’ most important audiences, including parents, staff, senior management, governors, pupils and prospective parents.

It involved:

  • Tailored online surveys
  • Focus groups

We also provided a professional assessment of each school’s approach to internal and external comms, including a review of all digital and print collateral, such as websites, social media channels, prospectus’s and newsletters.

Our findings and recommendations were included in a dedicated strategic communications audit. These centred on development of a clear vision for the Langley Schools brand, a clear proposition, and a single set of values and key messages. Strategy, marketing team structure and tactical approach were also covered in our report.

Results.

The two schools now operate under an umbrella Langley Schools brand – a key recommendation of our report.
